In order to increase efficiency in hiring and retention and to ensure consistency and compliance in the recruitment and selection process, specific procedures have been outlined for the Staff hiring process.


Temporary Staff

Temporary staff

Temporary staff (Tech Temps) and short term assignments are defined as:

  1. Assignments working between 50-100% time for a period of 6 months or less
  2. Assignments that will be working 49% time or less for a period of up to one year or 1,300 hours, whichever comes first.



An individual who has retired from the USG and is receiving benefits from the Teachers Retirement System, the Employees Retirement System, or the Regent's Retirement Plan, may be eligible for reemployment on a part-time basis by the USG.

The Office of Faculty Affairs is responsible for the approval process of all academic and research faculty hiring. This includes both tenure- and non-tenure track faculty members



Affiliates are guests of Georgia Tech or a member of an affiliated organization participating in activities that support our Institute's mission and require access to our internal IT systems.
